Sunday Echo-Remix 01-06-2008
This is a Sunday Echo-Remix – an opportunity to stay in conversation about the content of our weekly Sunday worship gathering.
Sunday was Epiphany.
We started a new series this week on the gospel of Luke. Luke begins his book with a crazy little story about a fellow called Zechariah. Read it here.
It is interesting to me that Luke begins where he does – way before ‘all that Jesus said and did’ as he claims in the Acts intro. I think this Zechariah/Elizabeth tale is actually a way Luke tips his hand as to what kind of story he intends to spin for us. Like a master storyteller, Luke is framing a larger narrative through the telling of a sub-narrative – shaping our imaginations to be able to receive the grander arc of the story.
